315 WATER ST OFFICES & PARKING GARAGE

Project was constructed in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, by East Port Properties Limited. It is a twelve-story structure comprised of five elevated levels of parking for 370 cars and seven levels of office space above the parking. Integrated into the parking levels are several retail spaces.

Becker Structural Engineers served as the owner’s consultant, advising and interfacing with the design team to develop a preliminary concept design that incorporates a precast/prestressed concrete parking structure supporting the steel framed office levels. Following preliminary design, the design team finalized the design and we became the liaison between the design team and the precaster – Strescon based on our recent experiences with a project of a similar configuration. Our final scope item was to conduct a review of the precast concrete structure erection and provide recommendations for repairs to non-conforming work.
