AUGUSTA COURT FACILITY

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Augusta Court Facility is a new, 4-story, 120,000-sf building that connects to the historic Kennebec County Courthouse. The new consolidated court facility is linked to the adjacent historic courthouse by a pedestrian bridge and accommodates jury, non-jury and family courtrooms, as well as court clerk and other administrative offices, ultimately, housing functions of the Augusta district and family courts and Kennebec County Superior Court.  The site is on a steep slope between Court and Winthrop Streets, behind the historic courthouse on State Street. The $55 million facility has consolidated the district and superior court functions.  Renderings courtesy of PDT Architects and Architectural Rendering Services.
