Guilford_BODYBSE completed the Preliminary and Final Design Services for the Memorial Bridge Deck Replacement in Guilford.  The design schedule was accelerated by a full year in an effort to meet the Town’s request to have the bridge open to the public prior to their bicentennial celebration in the summer of 2016.  The project consisted of a deck replacement with modifications to existing cut stone abutments and wingwalls.  The deck slab was extended over the backwalls in order to eliminate two of the three joints on the bridge.  Located on a narrow corridor sandwiched between existing masonry mill buildings, the bridge was constructed in stages, maintaining one lane of two-way alternating traffic controlled by temporary signals.
