Design includes composite steel framed floors and open web steel joist roof framing. Framing supports interior moveable partitions, overhead X-Ray equipment and rooftop HVAC equipment. |

Maine Medical Center Cath Lab Renovations, Portland, ME Structural engineering support for various renovation elements included analysis of the existing steel/concrete composite floor structure of the circa 1971 building for the addition of a new cath lab scanning machine and table. Also included the design of overhead equipment supports and the analysis and design of new roof-top steel framing to support an enlarged chiller and the review of existing framing for film rack file loads. |

Parkview Hospital ER/OR Addition, Brunswick, ME A one story 4,800 SF masonry load bearing addition to the existing facility with a new 600 SF ambulance canopy. Design included open web steel joists and steel beam roof structure to support snow loads and new HVAC equipment. Extensive re-support of existing framing required at "break through" of existing walls. |

Structure is comprised of wood framed bearing walls with engineered wood roof trusses. Intermediate steel beam lines support roof trusses at building transitions. Steel framed mezzanine with concrete slab supports HVAC equipment. |

Maine Medical Center/Brighton Campus, Ambulatory Surgical Unit, Portland, ME Gut renovation of the top floor of a 4,000 SF wing including removal of all existing bearing walls and replacement with a new moment connected beam/column system to support all gravity and lateral loads. New framing configuration allowed structure to be installed prior to demolition and without the need to provide additional temporary shoring. |

Parkview Hospital Radiology Addition, Brunswick, ME A two story 6,800 SF braced steel framed addition to the existing facility with a new egress stair tower and one story gift shop. Design included cantilever beam framing at second floor and roof adjacent to existing building, to limit gravity loading of existing structure. Structural system of open web steel joists and joist girders support new second floor concrete slabs and steel roof deck. Existing building roof structure was reviewed for new HVAC equipment. |

Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center, Cafeteria Expansion, Nashua, NH Expansion of existing cafeteria by enclosing an existing courtyard between two existing buildings. Design requires new roof framing to support high snow drift loads from adjacent taller buildings. Existing concrete foundation walls will be sawcut and removed to provide access into new space. Expansion is located over mechanical tunnel requiring extensive foundation coordination with existing construction. |
