Belgrade Community Center, Belgrade, ME
A new community building of approximately 10,000 SF built in a style
reminiscent of a northwoods lodge. The project contains a 6,000 SF,
22'-0" tall hi-bay multi-purpose area and 4,000 SF of support space
containing offices, kitchen, meeting rooms, library, restrooms and
mechanical room. The structural system uses cold-formed steel stud
bearing walls supporting pre-fabricated wood roof trusses. The design
includes a wrap around porch with exposed timber framing.

Thompsons Point Intermodal Transportation Facility, Portland, ME
A 2,700 SF wood framed addition to the existing bus station and a 325
foot long enclosed connector corridor to an Amtrack train platform.
Connector featured exposed fully welded tubular steel framing with
a galvanized steel roof deck. Concrete retaining walls supported
glazed wall and allowed for grade transitions of 5'-0" over the length
of the connector. Scope included foundation design for 220 feet of
prefabricated canopy to shelter train platform.

Portland International Jetport Phase I Parking Structure Peer
Review, Portland, ME
BSE retained by the
city to provide consulting structural engineering services to review construction
documents for the proposed garage and rental car facility. BSE's responsibility
includes a review of structural and architectural documents prepared by
the owner's design professional. It includes a review of the structural
systems and associated details for durability and constructability and
addresses coordination between structural/architectural drawings. Project
budget of $28 million.

Portland International Jetport Phase I Parking Structure Special
Inspections, Portland, ME
BSE retained by the
city to provide special inspection field review services in accordance
with requirements of 1999 BOCA National Building Code Section 1705. BSE
responsible for detailed site review of construction for conformance with
design documents, identification of non-conforming work and liaison between
contractor, owner and EOR for resolution of issues. Includes coordination
and oversight of material testing labs, collection of data and issuance
of monthly project reports to code officer, owner and designers.

Department of Marine Resources Pier Replacement, West
Boothbay Harbor, ME
Preparation of construction documents and specifications for
replacement of an existing 122 ft long by 18 ft timber pier used by this
agency to dock research vessels used to monitor salt-water fisheries.
Pressure treated timber piles, pilecap, stringers and decking are
designed to resist wind and wave forces.

Renovations and additions to the existing Marine Terminal to support
the expansion of operations of the Scotia Prince and U.S. Customs
Service.

Facility, Portland, ME
Design of steel framed canopy structure and foundations to house a new
baggage conveyor system. Work included structural modifications to
the existing terminal structure to provide floor penetrations, platforms
and suspended ceiling soffits.
